This project started with me getting an inspiration to put a “By the Sea” spin on the red, white and blue theme and sanding the divider box just a bit to make sure it had the weathered by the sea look. I used these fabulous papers and ephemera from Carta Bella and started inking all the edges to age them a bit.
I decided I wanted 4th of July patriotic bunting to go along with my design, yet there wasn’t any included in the package, so I made my own. Simply accordion fold a 12” long strip piece of paper matching your project and then fold it together to make a half circle and secure on the front and back to hold it in place. I find scoring the paper on your Scor-Pal makes the small accordion folds so much easier.
I added a piece of fence that I distressed with Vintage Photo ink and lots of fun accents from the Carta Bella package.
I can’t think of the beach without thinking of sand and shells so for the finishing touches out came the Mud Puddles. First I laid down glue in the places I wanted the sand and sprinkled Bahama Beach sand over the glue. Then I carefully chose mini shells and placed them on the sand.
I hope this project inspires you to create something fabulous this summer.
