Day#3 Valentine Challenge by Lori

My challenge started with me not ready for Christmas to be over! I also wanted to create 2 different projects with the challenge items. I grabbed a bottle brush tree and sprayed it in spun sugar to get a light pink, punched out some gold stars and decorated it! Using collage medium, I put tissue paper on the box and distressed it. Using the mini blueprints Valentine stamped the inside box. The love blocks are glued together and the paper doll couple glued on top. Peeking behind them is a foil German cupid. I save these so using one was a big deal!! Using a metallic acrylic paint, I painted the wood frame and attached to the outside to enclose the vignette box.

For my second project, I wanted to create a hanging ornament. I covered the baseboard & the chipboard frame with the same tissue paper and distressed. I stamped the Tim Holtz Valentine word stamp across the bottom. I stamped a cupid as the main focus. I attached the chipboard by raising it with some foam. Some die cut hearts and a TH metal arrow placed just in the right place pulls it together. I attached eye screws at the top and bottom of the baseboard. Using seam binding as a hanger at the top. The heart is something that I have held onto waiting for just the right project to put it on!

I love the way my challenge projects turned out! I hope you will come see us at The Crafty Scrapper and see all of our fun projects. We hope to inspire you to create your own Valentine projects!
